Hello, I am Julie and I live in a small village called Sedgefield in County Durham. Few people reach my age without learning a few life lessons along the way and with age comes wisdom so they say! Like many people, I have overcome serious illness, some adverse life experiences and a fair few curve balls. I have learned a lot from these experiences. They make me who I am today and gave birth to the passion I have for wanting to help make a difference to peoples’ lives. My approach is non judgmental, empathetic and respectful.
I am a lover of nature, the outdoors and the animal kingdom – literally all creatures great and small. I love to lose myself in books and podcasts and unwind gardening, practicing yoga, breath work and meditation. My favourite spiritual teachers are Thich Nhat Hanh and Eckhart Tolle. Both offer wisdom, insight and guidance on how to transform your life and your world.
The Way Out Is In, a writing by Thich Nhat Hanh, inspired the name of my business, In to Out, and my approach. He teaches the way out of any difficulty is to look deeply within, gain insights and then put them into practice.
Why the dragonfly as a business logo? The dragonfly embodies overcoming self created illusions that limit our growth and ability to change. They symobolise the idea of transformation, new beginnings or fresh starts… and I am blessed that they visit my garden pond!
I worked in education for over 15 years with responsibility for staff wellbeing (amongst other things such as business, finance and HR), however, wellbeing and health is my passion. In that role, I guided and supported people daily on a variety of wellbeing issues, whether that be stress (work or personal life related), problems with sleep, menopause, diet or mental health concerns. I also worked as a school Health & Wellbeing Life Coach and Mental Health First Aider, and offered my time to staff who benefited from a package of coaching sessions to help them to achieve their life , health or wellbeing goals whatever they were.
My approach is an holistic approach, exploring the whole person to bring balance and harmony, rather than addressing isolated symptoms or isolated health and wellbeing issues.
By addressing the main pillars of health and wellbeing - food and nutrition, stress, movement and exercise, rest, sleep, self care and mindset, we can create a long-term solution that fits you, your life style and time of life.
Incorporating Health & Lifestyle Screening, provides concrete data that identifies where you are currently at in terms of your health and wellbeing. Taking this information as a starting point and following the straight forward recommendations I provide, you will transform your wellbeing, whether your goal is preventing the onset of illness, improving your current health or maintaining good health.
I understand that navigating health and wellbeing issues can feel overwhelming. I am here to guide you gently and without judgement. We will ignore the noise of social media, with its competing diets and solutions in favour of evidence-based, data backed solutions so you can finally feel in control of your health and well-being.
